J’ette Pom Revue

Olivia Lee, staff writer

Each year the Jacksonville J’ettes host their annual Pom Revue open to all local dance studios and dance teams.  Each dance group, including the J’ettes, is able to showcase several of their own dances to the Jacksonville community at the JHS Bowl.  This year the Pom Revue will be held on Saturday, November 14 at 6:00.

The Pom Revue is an annual fundraiser for the Jacksonville J’ettes.  On Friday, November 13, the J’ettes will host a kiddie camp open to grades pre-k through 8th (including boys).  Each grade will learn an individualized routine taught by the J’ettes themselves and will perform the following day at the Pom Revue.  Besides the J’ette kiddie campers, the Pom Revue will showcase teams such as Sara’s Studio Competition Team,  Steven’s Competition Team,  Turner Poms, and the Jacksonville J’ettes.  The J’ettes will be performing three routines for their fundraiser.  Their first routine is a contemporary dance routine to “Settle Down” by Kimbra.  Afterwards, they will show their “Team Dance” routine which they learned over the summer during NDA camp at Maryville University.  This specific routine includes a variety of songs and styles of dance such as pom, kick, hip hop, and jazz.  Their final performance will feature the J’crew team which is an annual hip hop routine the J’ettes do with their J’crew partners.

Come to the JHS Bowl on Saturday, November 14 at 6:00 in order to support your local high school dance team, the Jacksonville J’ettes.
