Playing varsity football and writing poetry, Josh Hymes has come a long way from what he described his early life as being "a time where I thought I wasn't good enough for anything, and I lost reasons to apply myself academically and socially." Oddly enough, Hymes also describes his hobby as football and writing is his main focus and passion. Hymes says, " The words have always come easily for me, as if I'm plucking them out of the air." Landing a job at The Source and the Imagine Foundation this summer has given Hymes immense confidence in his writing ability where at first he thought he had none. Hymes has recently switched his class schedule just to be in journalism class, saying simply," Just makes sense with my job at The Source and my love of writing." Hymes also setting up the website mission statement for Artistic Portraits and Casey's DJ Service recently; he just keeps adding to his list of small but steady achievements. After high school, Hymes plans on going to school to major in the medical or educational fields, trying to give back as much as he can. Being a pacifist, he would also at some point want to get connected with the Peace Corps and help bring the people of the world together. He may still have his G.I. Joes from when he was 6, but this 15 year old has definitely put thought into his future and goals.
