Roll Gators roll

As Week Three in college football started up, the Florida Gators did not have a tough task facing the North Texas Mean Green. The Gators have started their season undefeated as they have beat Kentucky and Massachusetts. Week Three was much of the same; the Gators’ offense didn’t start off how they wanted punting the first drive. Luckily the Gators have the best defense in the country, as the Mean Green were stuck at the five-yard line. The Gators had a big sack that forced a safety. On the second offensive drive, the Gators were driving down the field, but the North Texas defense would hold and force the Gators to settle for a field goal to put the Gators up 5-0. Yet again, the defense for the Gators hold and give the ball back to the offense. The Gators would then start a very good drive, and unlike the 1st quarter, get a score putting the Gators up 12-0. After the first half, the Gators were up 19-0 and looked to add more in the second half. The Gators didn’t score until the fourth quarter when they would put up 13 points. The Gators ended up winning the game 32-0.

The four Gator running backs all scored a touchdown and the Gator defense held the Mean Green to 53 yards in the game. Coach McElwain and the Mean Green coaching staff got into a big argument during a timeout due to the Gators’ starting quarterback going down with a knee injury putting him out a couple games. The argument was that they were aiming low on Luke Del Rio to cause a injury. The Mean Green coaches said he was trying to come off the edge and was falling, and that is the reason he was hit low. After the game, the two coaches met at midfield and exchanged friendly words, where Coach McElwain would apologize for what he did. He says he got caught up in the moment, and it was just a high tension situation. He said they still have much to work on even though they won by a big margin. The Gators will go up against the Tennessee Volunteers in Week Four. This will be a tough game for the Gators with their quarterback injured. It will also be a test for the Volunteer offense. The game is on CBS at 2:30 on Saturday, September 24.
