Both of these teams are hoping to hear “One Shining Moment” while the are cutting down the nets in Houston. However, only one of these teams will have that pleasure. Number two seeded Villanova defeated top-seeded Kansas in the Elite Eight 64-59. Oklahoma, another 2 seed, defeated Oregon in the Elite Eight in a 80-68 blowout.

Oklahoma’s Elite Eight game versus Oregon was the Buddy Hield show with the rest of the team playing the supporting cast. Hield dropped 37 points while only two of his teammates reached double digits with 13 and 11 points. In this game with Villanova, Hield forgot to show up. To summarize this game in five words, it could be: “Oklahoma. Got. Murdered …by 44.” That should not happen, but it did. That loss set the record for the biggest loss in Final Four history. Hield only scored nine points. Villanova used the same balanced attack that they used to beat Kansas to also beat Oklahoma. Many in the sports community expected this one to be a good game and many in the sports community were sadly disappointed.

Villanova will move on to play the winner of Syracuse and UNC in the National Title game from Houston.
