Sweet 16 East Region: UNC flies past Indiana

The Indiana Hoosiers had no answer for how to stop North Carolina as the Tar Heels would score early and often.  Senior guard Marcus Paige nailed two early threes to help the Tar Heels jump out to a 8-3 lead.  This lead was never lost as North Carolina continued to add on and build to their lead throughout the first half.  They led the Hoosiers by as many as sixteen points in the first half as they headed into halftime with a comfortable 52-41 lead.  The second half was eerily similar to the first as UNC continued to score at will pushing their lead to twenty points.  Indiana did not have what it took to make any efforts of cutting into the lead as North Carolina breezed to a fifteen-point victory and a trip to the Elite Eight.

The Tar Heels shot an efficient 56% from the field and 55% from behind the three-point line as all five starters reached double figures.  Marcus Paige led the way with 21 points and 6 assists.  Brice Johnson added 20 points and 10 rebounds while Kennedy Meeks poured in 15 points and 9 boards.  Joel Berry II and Justin Jackson each added 14 apiece to round out a very balanced scoring attack.  Yogi Ferrell, in his final game as a Hoosier, notched a game-high 25 points in the losing effort.  Troy Williams poured in 21 of his own and Max Bielfeldt scored 15 points off the bench for Indiana.

North Carolina moves on to face the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in the Elite Eight.
