Texas A&M

One fourteenth-seed, Stephen F. Austin, had what it took to pull off an upset over a three-seed, but that just wouldn’t be the case here in this game. Green Bay looked liked they were going to give the Aggies a run for their money early on as they jumped out to a 22-14 lead.  Texas A&M then woke up from their daze and roared back to take an eight-point lead into the locker room at halftime and never looked back.  They outscored the Phoenix of Green Bay by 19 points in the second as the flood gates blew open en route to a 27-point lopsided victory.  Green Bay was led in scoring by Kahlil Small who rained in a game high 22 points on 5-6 shooting from the three-point line.  The only other member of the Phoenix who reached double figures was Jamar Hurdle who added 11 points off the bench for the winners of the Horizon League.  Texas A&M had a slew of players reach double figures in their blowout win.  Danuel House led the way with 20 points.  Tonny Trocha-Morelos notched 15 points, and Tyler Davis, Jalen Jones, and Admon Gilder each added 12, 11, and 11 points for the Aggies.  Texas A&M moves on to face the Panthers from the University of Northern Iowa fresh off their upset of Texas on a half-court shot at the buzzer.  They will be looking for their first appearance in the Sweet Sixteen since 2007.
