The J’ettes have been practicing exceptionally hard so far this season in preparation for their state competition on March 4th. They have gone to two competitions: one hosted by our very own J’ette squad on February 4, and the other was in Civic Memorial in January.
This season they are competing with kick, open pom, and open dance. In Civic Memorial, they placed second in all three dances they competed with but got very high scores. At their very own competition, they placed 1st in open pom, earning them a placement to state, 2nd in kick, and 3rd in open dance.
Coach Tiffany Hickox said, “The girls have worked very hard on their competition routines. Their pom is heading to state, and they hope to qualify their kick routine this weekend at Mahomet-Seymour. The girls are focused and committed to ending their season strong.”
Captain Emily Bell said, “Competitions have just started, and we have been practicing hard to place for state, which we did in pom, and we are now working on placing for kick. This season has been wonderful, and I love my team.”
The TDI State Competition will be held March 4 at the Civic Center in Peoria.
Their goal is to be state champions. With high hopes, they are determined to not be disappointed this year.
Captain Meg Gibbons said, “We are going to give it our all and have fun no matter what the outcome may be.”
