A farewell to JHS

Anna Bezler, staff writer

As the school year comes to a close, the seniors are looking forward to walking across the stage and receiving their diplomas. They are ready to move on in different directions to discover themselves and see who they are meant to be. Every path is different and it is exciting to see where everyone ends up. But we can’t forget how big of an impact JHS has had on our lives. There have been ups and downs, but every day we walked into JHS, we learned more and more about ourselves.

Freshmen year, we never thought that high school would go by so fast. We were just excited to go to Homecoming, make new friends, and attend all the sporting events. We finally felt like we were cool and grown up enough to make our own decisions. We were so excited for the best years of our lives. Sophomore year came, and we were no longer the baby freshmen. We knew how everything worked and were no longer nervous to walk through the halls during passing periods. We would say “I can’t wait to be out of this place.” Classes were getting harder, and we realized that we couldn’t just breeze our way through high school. Junior year was easy; there was nothing we couldn’t do. We were starting to take SATs and ACTs and beginning to think about our future plans. And now here we are at the end of senior year. We had all of our last school dances, pep rallies, and senior nights. We never realized how sad, yet excited, we were to move on. JHS is where we learned to grow up. We have learned to take responsibility for our actions, learned how to have relationships with people, and we have learned who we are and who we want to be.

As we walk across the stage and step into the future that is beginning, we will always remember the people at JHS and all the times we have shared. Farewell JHS, we will miss you.
