Relaxation for the mind

Coloring for relaxation has become my new favorite thing to do. I suffer from really bad anxiety and depression. I am one of those people that stress out about everything, so when I heard about coloring books that help relax your mind, I wanted to get my hands on one of them.  Being able to have easy access to something that can take my mind off of things for a period of time is not only fantastic but helpful.  A lot of people have followed along with the new coloring trend, and everyone I know that has one of the relaxation coloring books says that it was well worth the money and time it takes to color the pictures. The pictures in every book are different. There are no one pictures alike and the designs and details are so beautiful to the eye.  Because the pictures are so detailed, it takes a great amount of time to finish one picture, but by the time you’re done, you feel like you just got done meditating. When I was looking for a coloring book, I found one on Amazon, and they have a great selection of books and each book is different. The one I decided on is Adult Coloring Book Stress Relieving Animal Designs. The animal designs are extremely gorgeous, and just by looking at the pictures, I feel relaxed. There are so many different animals to color and each one is different in its own way. I’ve always loved coloring, but coloring has a whole different meaning for me; it’s like medication. When I’m having a stressful day and my anxiety is shooting through the roof or I’m feeling down, I like to go home after school, put on some tunes, turn off the lights, light a couple candles, and open up the curtains to my windows to let the light shine in and start coloring. Every picture I have colored takes me over an hour to finish so sometimes I split up the coloring and finish it the next time I want to color. When you finish coloring your picture, you feel so much better than you did when you started. The designs and the way the pictures are set up makes a person’s brain work a certain way that relaxes the mind and the body which is why they help so much with stress and anxiety. I recommend these coloring books to anyone that suffers from depression, anxiety or stress and to anyone that just enjoys coloring.
