Gary Miley, Jr., was a kind-hearted, loving man who always put family and friends first; every encounter was joyous and joking. Gary was a friend, a father, a son, a cousin, an uncle; he impacted so many lives, and yet, his own life was cut too short.
Gary was laying on the train tracks in Jacksonville at 3:15 AM, when the train conductor noticed him and tried to halt the train. Sadly, the train hit Gary going about 25 miles per hour. Gary’s life was short but beautiful.
Gary helped everyone in any way he could; he joked and loved playing with his children and younger family members.
From four wheeling to painting to calling everyone a “dum-dum,” Gary Miley was a well-rounded family man, and it’s hard to believe he’s gone.
Gary’s visitation was at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, and there was no service, but for the visitation many people from Jacksonville and farther came to say their last goodbyes to a man that touched their lives in enormous ways.
Someone with such a beautiful life-force should not have been taken from us so soon; he was young, strong, and he will be greatly missed.
Gary has left his mother, wife since 1999, and three children behind on this earth along with many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, and his daughter Arizzona.
I knew Gary personally, and that Sunday morning his death hit my home like wildfire. Everyone was in tears and thought it all had to be some cruel joke he was playing, but to find that it was true and not all just some terrible dream was heartbreaking–especially for my mother, who was his cousin, and my youngest sister whom he always took riding on his four wheeler.
Gary Miley, Jr., better known as Lil’ Gary to friends and family, may be gone in earthly form, but he will never be gone from our hearts or memories. He shall remain with us always in spirit and be known as an amazing guy who was taken way too soon.
Goodbye, Lil’ Gary.
