Easter spells out beauty, the rare beauty of new life. This quote by S.D. Gordon is fitting since Easter is the holiday of starting over with new life.
Easter is set in a time where the Earth is trying to shed its winter coat and make way for spring and all of its beauties. As Easter comes closer, people become excited because of the thought of starting fresh with warmer temperatures.
Everyone in the world has their own way to celebrate Easter, whether it’s feasting or just being with family. No matter what, we all have memories of what we’ve done on Easter in the past and those memories remain with us forever.
As for me, my favorite part of Easter was being with my family when we were Easter egg hunting. The day before Easter, my mom, and sister, and I would spend hours coloring dozens of eggs and we would just sit and joke around with each other.
Then after my sister and I went to bed she would stay up and fill the plastic eggs she bought with candy and she’d set them with the colored eggs we made that day. She then woke up at the crack of dawn to hide all of our eggs.
The only problem with that was that she was very good at putting the eggs in different hiding places. So she would get a good laugh at us trying to find her annoying hiding places, and sometimes my grandmother would come and spend the afternoon with us and watch us egg hunt.
Every moment I spent with my family was extremely precious because of how great it was just being with them and enjoying their company. Those memories have stayed with me for years, and they are nice to look back on and remember.
It doesn’t matter where you’re from, everyone spends Easter Day differently, and we all have our own set of memories and each is precious. So this Easter, enjoy the time you have with your family and never forget: “Families are like fudge – mostly sweet with a few nuts.”
