Apple introduces the iOS 9 update

On September 16, 2015, Apple, Inc., released their newest update, iOS 9 for select Apple devices including iPhones, iPads, and iPods in order to “bring its users refinements at every level.”  iOS 9 also allows for these enhancements to create a completely new feel and provide access to so much more than before.

Some of the major new features of iOS 9 include several built-in apps.  One of the more common built-in apps would be the News app.  News hand selects stories for its users to provide them with content they have the most interest in.  The more often News is used, the better it is able to adapt to its users interests.  Apple also provided a new look to the Notes app.  Notes includes new features such as checklists, the ability to add photos, maps, or web links, and the ability to draw a sketch.  These provide a much better overall use of the app allowing for more organization.  Apple also made paying for items much more convenient with its Wallet app.  The Wallet app utilizes Apple Pay to secure payments quickly and easily.  Users can access Apple Pay faster by double clicking the home button of the Apple device while it is locked.

The new iOS 9 update has created a whole experience for iPad users.  iOS 9 provides iPads with the ability to multitask by allowing access to a second app without leaving the one already opened.  When finished with the second app, the user can simply slide it away and return to the original one.  By taking its new multitasking feature to a new level, Apple created the Split View feature for the iPad.  This allows for two apps to be open and active at the same time.

One of iOS 9’s most major enhancements would include a much more intelligent Siri.  Based on everyday use of apps, Siri is able to make more intelligent searches and suggestions even before being asked.  It also provides many more search results.

Some minor features of the update include improved battery life and security.  These allow for longer use of any Apple device with the iOS 9 update and peace of mind knowing that everything is secured.

Overall, iOS has proved to be more advanced with several new built-in apps, improvements to previous apps, a new experience for iPad users, a more intelligent Siri, and some minor fixes.
