In a candle-lit ceremony, March 6, the three foreign language departments at JHS—Spanish, German, and French—inducted new recruits to its ever-growing membership in the respective societies.
Spanish teacher Mrs. Terhark said “hola” to new members of the Spanish Honor Society: Faith Ambrose, Anne Deal, Ryan Feller, Taylor Heady, Eleanor Hinton, Jaelyn Keene, Morgan Lenz, Gilbert Maruna, Ashlyn Myers, Molly McGiles, Nicholas Neeley, Joshua Peak, Jeremiah Roberts, Maria Rubin de Celis, David Sibert, Cody Stewart, and Kody Wood who joined current members, Brendan Barlow, Megan DeWitt, Justice Hammers, Alex Hays, Austin Hunter, Kristen Koch, Katherine Linder, Clayton Lonergan, and Grant Wilson.
In the area of German scholars, Mrs. Cervi added Emily Colbridge, Jacob Roth, Hayley Ruyle, Emily Tabeek, Mary Thorsen, and Dara Sweatman to her honor society currently consisting of Grady Erickson, Thomas Estabrook, Natalie Flynn, Hannah Harder, Mary Kesinger, Mark Luth, and Ashton Wiegand.
The French class, headed by Mrs. Homer, welcomed no new additions to its society that already includes Brittany Baker, Holly Bentley, Catherine Colburn, Liza Lewellen, Bridgette Lonergan, and Sarah Shive.
In order to be eligible for acceptance into the honor society, students must maintain an “A” for at least two consecutive semesters and be no younger than a sophomore.
