Meghan Wardell: Fun math teacher

Devon Huff, Staff Writer

Meghan Wardell is a math teacher at Jacksonville High School. She is a super fun teacher who is easy to get along with. She always makes her classes better and tries to make them fun even if they start to get hard. If students have had Mrs. Wardell as a teacher, they would know that she is a very good teacher.

Wardell chose to teach kids because she enjoys helping people and she really liked working with kids. This will be her sixth year being a teacher. Since she has not taught anywhere else, it will also be her sixth year here at JHS. Wardell teaches Special Education Geometry and Algebra 2. She also co-teaches Algebra 2 and Geometry. Wardell used to teach Connections to Geometry, as well as Algebra A and Algebra B which are now not part of the JHS curriculum. She also used to co-teach Algebra A, Connections to Geometry, and Physical Science, the only class that was not a math class. Wardell completed her graduate program at Western Illinois University and completed her Masters at Grand Canyon University. When she was asked about her experiences as a teacher, she replied, “Every day is different. You never know what is going to happen next. I feel like every day is a new adventure when teaching.” Wardell also tries to encourage her students to do their very best, connecting situations to the real world to ameliorate her students.

Out of school, Wardell likes to spend time with her husband, son, and friends. She also enjoys relaxing. I have previously had Mrs. Wardell as a teacher in Algebra 2, and she was a big help. Thank you for being such an amazing teacher!
