Frau Cervi is a teacher at Jacksonville High School who teaches the interesting language, German. Frau (a nickname that her students call her, means “Mrs.” in German) has four separate German classes which are German 1, German 2 (the class I’m in), German 3, and German 4 and 5.
Frau’s inspiration for being a teacher was her “…grandfather and high school German teacher.” Frau never doubted doing this profession and even told me that she’d would’ve been a teacher with one word “Always.” However, I still asked Frau what she would be if she wasn’t a teacher and, in a more joking matter, Frau replied, “Working at Disney World.” I should add that Frau loves Disney movies.
Frau, of course, has her previous knowledge of teaching from college some years back. Frau told me that she went to Eastern Illinois University doing the whole four years of college to get her degree. Frau is also one of those people who does not like math, and constantly says in class, “I don’t English,” but she enjoys English with her explanation being that she can’t process the two distinct languages very well at the same time.
Frau is also a good person putting her students before herself and teaching with a style that is simple but effective. When I asked her who she would like to be more like, Frau impressed me with her meaningful answer, “A more put together me.”
Some interesting information about Frau is that her favorite Disney movie is Peter Pan. Her favorite Disney princess is Scottish Merida because she “…is Scottish.” She has two doggies, an Italian Greyhound named Bambi and a black Lab named Bagheera. Frau’s favorite Disney character is Eeyore, and her favorite ride at Disney World is Peter Pan’s Flight. Frau’s favorite subject is a toss-up between U.S. History and music.
