It: Chapter 2 Scares Moviegoers!

Maycee Hurt, Staff Writer

If you’re a person who loves all things scary, I definitely recommend It: Chapter 2. I was sitting at the edge of my seat the whole time and couldn’t look away! (except when I got scared). The plot line of the movie was great and I am glad I went to see it.

If you saw the first remake of It, you’re probably thinking that it wasn’t that scary. I can assure you that the second movie was so much creepier than the first. The graphics were extremely realistic and freaked me out. I love scary movies and I don’t get scared easily, but this movie gave me nightmares. On the way home, I was terrified of every moving thing I saw.

I loved how they brought back parts from the first movie as reference. The backstory was very helpful especially if you hadn’t seen the first movie. I really liked how the same characters were used but years later. I think that gave the movie a nice touch and brought the plot line together. Overall, I really enjoyed the movie and thought it was well made and had just the right amount of scariness.

Although the movie was good and scary, it was too long. For me personally, sitting in a movie theater chair for almost three hours is not fun. Even sitting at home watching a three-hour movie gets boring. I do recommend the movie, but I think the writer could’ve cut some parts out and made it a little shorter. If you enjoy long movies, this is for you! It did keep me interested, but by the last hour, I could barely stay awake. This movie is very good nonetheless.

All in all, It: Chapter Two was extremely frightening and kept me at the edge of my seat. Although the movie was very long, the writer did a good job of making the film interesting. I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves a good scare!
