On November 2, 2012, the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Wreck-It Ralph hit theaters in the United States.
The movie tells the story of Ralph, the bad guy in the game Fix it Felix, Jr., who goes on a quest to win his own medal to prove that a bad guy can be good. Ralph leaves his own game and his quest to win a medal eventually leads him to the game Sugar Rush, a racing game that is entirely made of candy.
In Sugar Rush, Ralph meets a young girl named Vanellope von Schweetz who steals his medal and uses it to enter the upcoming race. After realizing that the winner of the race will earn all of the coins used to enter the race, Ralph’s medal included, Ralph realizes that the best way to get his medal back is by helping Vanellope win the race.
Wreck-It Ralph is full of action and has a touch of both comedy and romance. The friendship between Ralph and Vanellope is sweet and genuine. The dialogue is witty and the animations are fantastic, as Disney movies usually are, and they are improved in the 3D release of the movie.
Overall, Wreck-It Ralph is a great movie for both children, adults, and those who are still children at heart.
