Kardashians announce end to reality show

Known for their unrealistic body shapes, very organized cookie jars, countless makeup and clothing companies, and family drama, the Kardashian family recently released news that 2021 would be the last year for new episodes of their family reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians. After fourteen years, it was announced that this upcoming season, the twentieth, would be the final one.

Since the show began in 2007, cast members who were kids then now have kids of their own. Back in 2007, Kim was the most famous member of the family, mainly from a video with Ray J that went viral and her role as Lindsey Lohan’s personal stylist. Now, she is married to Kanye West, her third marriage, and has four children, North West, Chicago West, Psalm West, and Saint West. She has launched her own shapewear line called SKIMS, a makeup company called KKW Beauty, and even come out with her own emojis.

The youngest of the Kardashian sisters, Khloé co-ran a clothing boutique called D-A-S-H when the show first started. In the early 2010s, there was controversy that Khloé might have been adopted because she didn’t look like the rest of her siblings. She also has written a few books, Strong Looks Better Naked in 2011 and Kardashian Konfidential in 2015. In 2017, Khloé launched Good American Denim, which has since grown to include activewear and shapewear as well as denim. She had a daughter in 2018, True Thompson, and fans have mocked her for “looking different every week.” The eldest of the Kardashian sisters, Kourtney ran the D-A-S-H boutique with Khloé when the show started. For nearly ten years, she was with Scott Disick, with whom she had her three children, Mason Disick, Reign Disick, and Penelope Disick. She now runs her own lifestyle brand called Poosh and was the first family member to take a step back from the show in early 2020.

Only nine years old when the show began, Kylie Jenner was named the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire in 2019. Following controversy about getting lip filler, she went on to create her own cosmetic company, Kylie Cosmetics, which generated half a billion dollars in two years. In that same year, she and sister Kendall came out with their own clothing line called Kendall + Kylie. In 2017, Kylie began Life with Kylie, the first spin-off of Keeping up with the Kardashians. In 2018, she had her first daughter, Stormi Webster and now resides in her nearly 20,000-square-foot house in Calabasas.

Kendall Jenner was only 11 when the show began. She had the most minor part in the family because of her role in the world of fashion. She walked the runway at Fashion Week in New York, Paris, and Milan in 2014 and 2015, as well as being on the cover of over a dozen international Vogue magazines. She is a brand ambassador for Estée Lauder and was named the world’s highest-paid model in the Forbes top-earning models list.

Rob Kardashian, the only Kardashian brother, played a prominent role in the first few seasons, but he isn’t seen as much anymore. He launched his own sock line called Arthur George, and had a daughter, Dream Kardashian with Blac Chyna. Together they created another spin-off of the show called Rob & Chyna.

The “momager” of the family, Kris Jenner ran Jenner Communication when the reality show started. She has always been very involved in the careers of her children, while writing an autobiography called Kris Jenner… And All Things Kardashian, a cookbook, and hosting her own talk show Kris.

Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete formerly known as Bruce Jenner, Caitlin Jenner was in control of navigating the five daughters. Bruce transitioned into Caitlin in 2015. Since then, she starred in the reality series I am Cait and is now an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

Having lives that are so open to the public and its judgement has created quite a few “scandals” for the Kardashian-Jenner family. From unfaithful spouses to losing diamond earrings in the ocean to the world fawning over how organized their cookie jars are to all of the crying memes and short conversations now used for sounds on TikTok, the Kardashian-Jenner family remains one of the foremost families in the world.

There are some speculations as to why the family has cancelled the show. Some people think they have run out of drama or needed something new in their lives, but the family has said “it was a mutual, family decision to move on.” There have been rumors that Kris Jenner will be joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or that Kylie may be getting her own spin-off show, but nothing has yet been confirmed.
