Just Cause 3: Destruction at its finest

Christopher Sutsser, staff writer

Just Cause 3 is a third-person, action-adventure game with tons of different ways to play and cause mayhem for the people who live on this beautiful island of Medici. Individuals play as Rico Rodriguez, a rebel soldier, who is coming back to his homeland to save his friends and family from the dictator of the island. He accomplishes this by clearing military soldiers for the towns and destroying military bases to take back his homeland and free the people who live there.

Rico goes at this conquest by not only having a gun at his side but a rocket launcher strapped to his back. In addition to his weapons, he also has a parachute and wingsuit for aerial mobility. He can fight from his parachute and glide around the map with his wing suit. While this may sound cool, he also has a grappling hook that allows him to gain momentum with his parachute or wingsuit and use it to cause mayhem. He can attach almost anything together and pull them together; he can attach a statue to the ground and pull it down or attach two helicopters to each other and spin them. Furthermore, working for a rebel army has its benefits; he can call for an air drop at any time and have all kinds of vehicles and weapons delivered to him. The game lets players upgrade weapons, vehicles, and other means of transportation, but to do this players have to complete challenges like races, wingsuit courses and destruction, and depending on the score, the player is awarded cogs which are used to unlock upgrades; the player can turn these upgrades on and off so the player is not forced to keep them once unlocked. Just Cause 3 is a huge upgrade to previous games in the series and has many improvements with each installment of the series
